On the occasion of the European Day for Victims of Crime (22 Feb), AGE Platform Europe published a position paper on the protection of victims of elder abuse, referring to the implementation of the Victims’ Directive. AGE’s work around elder abuse has focused on prevention, calling for a rights-based approach to the care of older persons in need of assistance and support.

The new United Nations manual to address management of violent extremists in prison settings includes a (small) section on the reintegration of prisoners and the role of victims and communities.
Moment of inspiration

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of restoring broken objects, of recognising the beauty in the broken things, of finding treasure in life’s scars. In this TED talk, Audrey Harris presents her understanding of the philosophy behind Kintsugi, something symbolic that may talk also to our RJ community.
