RJ events coming soon!

In the following months the EFRJ will be busy with the co-organisation of 3 important events for our RJ community: the deadlines for registering are coming soon! Please forward this campaign within your network and join us in Leuven, Tirana and Barcelona!
Criminal Justice Summer Course
Reimagining Violent Extremism (restoratively)
The early bird deadline for registering to the Criminal Justice Summer Course is approaching soon! You have time until 15 April to get the reduced fee and join us in Barcelona (3-6 July). This year the Course will include field trips, plenaries and workshops on the main topic Radicalisation & Violent Extremist Offenders. As usual, the Course will bring together about 60 professionals from different criminal justice areas, including prison, probation and restorative justice. Our RJ community can choose from 3 different parallel workshops, but might be interested to attend the series of workshops entitled Reimagining Violent Extremism (restoratively). For this we invited international experts Gema Varona (Spain), Guido Bertagna and Claudia Mazzucato (Italy) to share their RJ experiences to understand and respond to radicalisation. The workshops will look at all practical aspects related to the actual encounters between victims and combatants of the armed struggle of the 1970-1980s’ Italy (Red Brigades and other armed groups) and members of the ETA separatist group from the Basque country in Spain. Our experts will use presentations, discussions, exercises and films to reflect on the relevance of RJ in this field.

Film screening & Seminar
RJ in road traffic offences
This is the last week to register to the seminar “Restorative Justice in road traffic offences: A promising field” (Leuven 20 April). The topic will be introduced the evening before with a film screening followed by a discussion. The seminar includes presentations, workshops and testimonies. The event is part of a two year EU-funded project on victims of road traffic offences. Registration is free of charge but compulsory!

#EFRJ2018 Conference
Expanding the restorative imagination
Only one month left to register to the 10th international conference of the EFRJ “Expanding the restorative imagination: Restorative justice between realities and visions in Europe and beyond” (Tirana 14-16 June). The pre-conference training on RJ in serious crime is already fully booked, but you can still register to the 3 day conference! The event will bring together more than 250 professionals from the field and it will include plenaries and workshops on RJ in the criminal justice, juvenile justice and as a social movement. On the last day some local visits will be organised, while on the first day the EFRJ will give the 5th European RJ Award during the opening reception.
